Eagles stumble at Cowboys Stadium in round two

In round two of the 5A playoffs, the Eagles lost to Mesquite John Horn Jaguars at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Early in the first quarter, the Jaguars jumped to a 7-3 lead. After a touchdown following fumble recovery by Corey Manges  in the second quarter, the Eagles offense managed 12 points, but remained behind after the defense allowed the Jaguars 13 points.  

In the third quarter, Jaguars quarterback Collin Strahan scored two touchdowns to the Eagles one touchdown. The Jaguars took the lead in the third quarter, but the Eagles fought until the final buzzer. As the Eagles took field in the fourth quarter, the Jaguar defense eliminated the Eagles chance of scoring, where the Jaguars scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to end the game.

The Eagles lost to the Mesquite J. Horn with the final score of 44-22.  The Eagles season ended with a 9-3 record.

Key players of the game were Treyvon Green with one touchdown and 55 rushing yards, Logan Brown with one touchdown and 96 receiving yards, Corey Manges with one touchdown and 3 receiving yards, Chris Osborn with 52 receiving yards and Colton Kalmus with two thrown touchdowns and 22 completions of 41 attempted passes.
